Non-Ordinary Concert November 19-21, 2021 Margaret H'Doubler Performance Space at Madison, Wisconsin
JIN-WEN YU DANCE & The UW-Madison Dance Department present Non-Ordinary, a contemporary, cross-cultural, and cutting-edge dance concert.
Yu's sextet, titled "Non-Ordinary Position," intends to present multiple perspectives on viewing dance through a mobile audience seating arrangement. The exciting approach of this idea is to challenge the traditional relationship between the audience and the performer. In different sections of the dance, the audience's seating is set up in different and unexpected formations. Hence, the audience actively participates in the concert by deciding which dance they would like to see.

Non-Ordinary Concert April 10-11, 2021 Wumay Theater of Hua Shan Arts Village at Taipei, Taiwan
JIN-WEN YU presents Non-Ordinary, a contemporary, cross-cultural, and cutting-edge dance concert. The concert is shared with emerging Taiwanese choreographer, Chien-Kuei Chang, featuring ten outstanding Taiwanese professional dancers.
Mr. Chang's 30-minute work, titled "The Outsider," is inspired by the famous French novelist's, Albert Camus, work "L'Étranger." This dynamic quartet explores the relationships of the four dancers with unique dance vocabularies, which integrate street dance movements with contemporary dance practices.
